This book is interesting. I wish it would of had more foods in there that I like because there are alot of foods that I just don’t care for. I guess you could say I am picky.

But if you like alot of different kinds of food this book is for you.

I got this book to try to think of clever snacks for my overweight 4 yr old. It was not at all what I was expecting. There was hardly anything in the whole book she would touch. There wasn’t much I would eat in it either. All the snacks were really “fancy”. Things that most people would not take the time or money to go out and purchase. Most didn’t sound all that yummy either. Try looking at it in the local bookstore before buying, so you don’t have to return it like I did.

The 100-Calorie Snack Cookbook by Sally Sampson is a wonderfully creative cookbook filled with delicious, low-calorie snacks. A valuable resource for those trying to watch their calorie intake, 100-Calorie Snack Cookbook has some scrumptious and filling options for low-cal fare. A few of my favorites: Congee (exploded rice soup), Pomegranate Sangria, Banana Cocoa Malted (beverage), and Portobello Mushroom with mozzarella and tomato. These, of course, are just a few of the delicious recipes you’ll find inside Sampson’s 100-Calorie Snack Cookbook. Along with each recipe, you’ll find a brief paragraph outlining the author’s take on the snack – sometimes witty, sometimes informative, but always written in a personal, friendly style. Handy nutritional facts are listed for each recipe, too. Colorful photos appear for nearly every single recipe, giving the book a visual appeal that will have your mouth watering.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone trying to stick to their diet. The tasty 100-calorie snacks it contains are well worth looking into – particularly if, like me, you are tired of the same boring low-cal snacks you’re eating now. Fresh and original, you won’t be disappointed with the 100-Calorie Snack Cookbook.

  4. I was very disappointed when receiving this snack cookbook. I looked through each page and of the entire book, there were MAYBE 5 things I would consider making. The titles alone were things I don’t know of anyone who eats these things and the ingrediants were not what I consider normal and simple. This book has gone up in my cabinet and will probably be put on a yard sale because I will never use it and regret spending the money on it. Price was reasonable but in the end, too much after seeing what was in it.
